Kosher Visit: What to expect?

Purpose of visit
The purpose of the Rabbi’s visit is to analyse and examine first-hand the Kosher suitability of all raw materials, production equipment and production processes.
Visit agenda
Introduction
- Your opportunity to share a brief presentation of your company’s business, product portfolio and your Kosher products.
- The Rabbi will introduce Kosher and its related concepts to your team, tailoring the conversation to your factory and product-type.
Raw materials & pRODUCTS review
- The Rabbi will review products and ingredients lists together with you and may query some of the ingredients.
- It is most helpful if you have the ingredients lists and kosher certificates to hand. Don’t forget the important role of KF Head Office. Any lists and supporting documents should be shared with your KF Head Office contact.
- Please also prepare production flowsheets
erp system & delivery notes
- Your ERP system and incoming delivery notes will contain helpful information which the Rabbi will need when reviewing your products and raw materials. Please arrange for the Rabbi to have access to these documents and systems.
warehouse & production area
- The Rabbi will examine all production lines, and warehousing facilities.
- Heating and cooling systems will be visited and assessed for kosher compliance.
Summary & FOLLOW UP
- The Rabbi will summarise his findings and will be in contact after the visit to ensure that all necessary information can be shared with KF Head Office Rabbis.
- A detailed internal Kosher inspection report will be reviewed by KF’s Rabbinic Coordinators.
- A Rabbinic Coordinator will follow up after the audit to discuss any points which may require attention in light of the audit.
