With preparations for Pesach already well underway, Kehillas Mehadrin and KF Kosher has once again overseen the Kosher lePesach production of Heinz ketchup at the company’s facility in Alfaro, Spain.

This year’s production was distinguished by the presence of Harav Shraga Feivel Zimmerman, shlita, who travelled to the site to personally observe the meticulous kashrus arrangements. His visit demonstrates KF Kosher’s commitment to maintaining the highest Kashrus standards and was an opportunity for the Rov to thank senior management at the company for their dedication and commitment to Kashrus.

The groundwork for this year’s production began shortly after last Pesach, with KF Kosher’s rabbinic team engaging in detailed consultations with colleagues at Heinz to ensure the integrity of every stage of the process.

Rabbi Y. M. Guttentag, Director of Certification at KF Kosher, explained the rigorous oversight involved:

“Our involvement spans the entire supply chain. From the sourcing and production of the vinegar—ensuring it is derived solely from Kosher lePesach ingredients and produced on dedicated equipment—to the careful selection of spices and the special supervision of tomato paste production, every element is scrutinised.”

The product which carries the Kehillas Hashgocho symbol has become a staple of the Pesach season for many kosher consumers, who appreciate that Heinz ketchup is now produced to meet Pesach kashrus standards whilst retaining the identical taste and texture. The ingredients are of the highest quality, many sourced locally from Spain’s agricultural regions, under the watchful eye of experienced mashgichim.

Following an intensive night of supervision, Harav Zimmerman expressed his satisfaction with the process:  “It is heartening to witness the dedication and professionalism of the KF Rabbonim and mashgichim. Their efforts ensure that the highest standards of kashrus are upheld, providing the community with a product that enhances the Yom Tov table.”

Kehillas Mehadrin & KF Kosher continue its longstanding partnership with Harav Yechiel Babad, shlita, the Tartikover Rav, in overseeing this production. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to excellence in kashrus and to serving the needs of the wider kehilla.

As the team concluded their work in Alfaro, they joined together in sincere tefillah:
